THE CARE GUIDE
All our tips for caring for your berets and caps to make them last a lifetime...
Select the material of your beret, your cap or your Laulhère scarf :
Merino Wool Berets and Caps
CLEANING :
Machine washing, hand washing and dry cleaning are excluded for felted merino wool. In case of stains, blot with absorbent paper and clean with a soft brush or a natural sponge soaked in warm water and Marseille soap, avoiding excessive wetting of the beret/cap and the leather brim. To dry, always lay the beret flat, with a paper inside, in the open air but away from light to preserve its shape and original color. Never dry your beret on a heat source.
Tip : To restore a fresh look to your beret: apply a little dry shampoo, leave to dry for a few moments and brush.
BRUSHING, DUSTING :
Merino wool is a material with exceptional qualities, but it easily captures dust, textile fibres and animal hair. We therefore recommend that you use an adhesive textile brush.
Tip : Wet the palm of your hand slightly and gently rub the surface of your beret in circles, the dust will then form a ball that you only have to remove to find a clean beret.
To best protect your beret/cap, it is recommended to store it flat in its cardboard box after each use, away from dust.
Cotton berets and caps
CLEANING :
Machine washing, hand washing or dry cleaning should be avoided (consult your dry cleaning specialist if cleaning is imperative). In case of stains, blot with absorbent paper and clean with a soft brush or natural sponge soaked in lukewarm water, avoiding excessively wetting the beret. Allow to dry at room temperature and finish with a soft brushing.

Cashmere berets
CLEANING :
Machine washing, hand washing and dry cleaning are not allowed for cashmere. It is better to air your beret than to wash it. In case of a stain, blot with absorbent paper and clean with a soft brush or a natural sponge soaked in warm water and Marseille soap. To dry, always lay the beret flat, with a piece of paper inside, in the open air but away from light to preserve its original shape and colour. Never dry your beret on a heat source.
Tip : To restore a fresh look to your beret: apply a little dry shampoo, leave to dry for a few moments and brush.
BRUSHING, DUSTING :
The cashmere used by Laulhère is of the highest quality. It is an incomparably soft and water-resistant material. However, cashmere requires special care to preserve its splendour. We recommend that you keep your beret away from air and moisture. Also, protect your cashmere beret from too much sun or rain.
Tip : Slightly dampen the palm of your hand and gently rub the surface of your beret in circles, the dust will form a ball that you will only have to remove to find a clean beret.
To best protect your beret, it is recommended that you store it in a moth-proof bag or use a cedar ball after each use.
