WHAT IS THE EPV LABEL?
The Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant – EPV) label is an official distinction awarded by the French State. It recognizes companies with exceptional artisanal or industrial know-how that contribute to the preservation of France’s economic and cultural heritage.
To receive this label, a company must meet several specific criteria. It must possess a unique economic heritage derived from manufacturing expertise, along with rare equipment, tools, or machinery, hold industrial property rights, and/or actively pursue creation and innovation.
The company must also master traditional or highly specialized manufacturing techniques and contribute to the transmission of this know-how, particularly through the internal training of apprentices or employees.
Finally, the label honors companies with a recognized brand, strong local roots, or a commitment to social responsibility. This is true for Maison Laulhère, whose production has been based for over 180 years in the southwest of France, in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, the historic birthplace of the authentic French beret.
