The Éridan beret is more than an accessory: it is a statement piece. Adorned with embroidered historical crests, it celebrates 180 years of creation by Maison Laulhère with rare graphic intensity. Each season, its crests evolve, transforming the beret into a collector’s item, infused with memory and boldness. Made from 100% French merino wool and finished with a genuine leather headband, Éridan combines technical mastery, comfort, and personal expression. Available in five colors, it powerfully complements the most contemporary looks. A legendary beret, designed for those who love to wear history… and write its next chapter.
The Laulhère workshops are still located today in the very same place where they were founded in 1840, at the foot of the Béarn Pyrenees, perched above the rushing waters of the Gave d’Oloron. More than 180 years of history, tradition, and savoir-faire are concentrated here to craft the authentic Laulhère beret.
This French emblem has graced the heads of film stars, athletes, musicians, and writers, and has traveled the world thanks to fearless sailors and explorers setting out from the Basque Country. Our berets boldly crossed the 20th century, moving from farmers to workers, from Parisian titi to Latin Quarter jazzmen, from silent film starlets to cigar-smoking revolutionaries and singers with millions of fans. Today, more than ever, enriched by all these intertwined stories, Laulhère berets embody an incredibly diverse heritage that everyone can make their own to express their personal style.

Machine washing, hand washing, and dry cleaning are not suitable for felted merino virgin wool. In case of a stain, blot with absorbent paper and clean with a soft brush or a natural sponge dipped in lukewarm water and Marseille soap, taking care not to excessively wet the beret. For drying, always lay the beret flat with paper inside, in the open air but away from direct light, to preserve its original shape and color. Never dry your beret on a heat source.
Tip: To freshen up your beret, apply a little dry shampoo, let it sit for a few moments, then brush.
Felted merino wool is a material with exceptional qualities. However, it easily attracts dust, textile fibers, and animal hair. We therefore recommend using a textile lint brush.
Tip: Slightly moisten the palm of your hand and gently rub the surface of your beret in circular motions; the dust will gather into a small ball that you can easily remove, leaving your beret clean again.
To best protect your beret, we recommend storing it after each use in an anti-moth bag or using a cedar ball.
