As early as the 19th century, the gavroche cap made its way through the streets and across generations as an iconic part of the urban wardrobe. Linked to everyday life, work and freedom of movement, it has become a popular accessory that stands the test of time.
Since 1840, Laulhère has carried on a demanding textile know-how in its workshops at the foot of the Pyrenees, applied to both berets and caps. In the Spring–Summer 2026 collection, we preserve the essence of the gavroche through a modern, summer-ready interpretation, crafted in cotton and designed for everyday wear.

Made from carefully selected natural cotton, this piece deserves special care.
To help maintain its shape and appearance, we recommend not washing it. Avoid heat and excessive friction, and allow it to air out gently after wear.
In case of a light stain, clean the affected area only using a clean, slightly damp cloth, optionally with a mild, pH-neutral soap. Gently dab without rubbing, then let it air dry away from direct sunlight.
To remove dust or lint, gently use a lint roller.
Finally, storing your beret flat in a box will help preserve its quality and overall look over time.
