The choice depends on how it will be carried. The Charlie backpack
keeps your hands free and distributes the weight, making it ideal
for busy days and journeys that involve plenty of walking. The Noa
tote bag can be carried over the shoulder or by hand, filled according
to your needs and taken from the office to the weekend without
changing bags.
The Sacha laptop sleeve protects the essentials, whether carried
alone under the arm or slipped into a larger bag. The Camille belt
completes the silhouette in the same material.

What are handcrafted leather goods?
Leather goods involve transforming leather and other supple materials
into bags, belts and accessories. They become handcrafted when each
piece is individually shaped in a workshop by people who understand
the material. This is the opposite of serial production assembled
from components cut elsewhere.
Our approach comes from a different craft. We are not traditional
leatherworkers; we are hatmakers, and we have been making felt since
1840. This collection was born from felt, not leather. This explains
our decision to avoid assembly seams.
Each piece is formed as a continuous whole, like a beret. The felt
is fulled until it reaches the required density, then shaped. There
are no separate sections to join and therefore no assembly seams
that need to withstand years of use. Cowhide leather is added only
where it serves a purpose: the handle that is held, the strap that
carries the weight or the tab that closes the piece.
This is French manufacturing in the strictest sense: the material
is felted and dyed in our workshops in Béarn, where the pieces are
also assembled.
Why choose felt rather than leather?
Here is what it changes in practical terms. A wool felt bag weighs
less than a leather bag of the same volume without losing its
structure. The material absorbs knocks, resists scratches and
develops a patina rather than showing marks. It requires no cream
or polish; gentle brushing when dry is enough.
The visual effect is also entirely different. Felt is matt and
dense, while leather reflects the light. It works naturally with
wardrobes built around wool, flannel and knitwear, where glossy
leather can feel more dominant. There is no visible logo or
signature effect: the silhouette and material speak for themselves.
We use cowhide leather only where it is useful: on handles, straps
and fastening tabs.
Is a wool felt bag durable?
Yes. Felt is created by fulling wool, giving it a density comparable
to leather without the same rigidity. It does not fray, lose its
shape or show marks in the same way as smooth leather.
Wool is also naturally water-repellent. It resists light rain and
dries quickly. It is not waterproof, but it can withstand mild
weather without becoming deformed. Care should be carried out when
dry using a soft brush, without water or machine washing.
Are Laulhère leather goods unisex?
Our four designs are created to be carried by anyone. The colour
determines the look, never the cut: a black tote bag and a raspberry
tote bag tell different stories, but their shape is exactly the same.
