One side in merino wool felt, the other in leather. The Camille belt can be reversed to suit your outfit: felt for texture, leather for a sharper finish. Crafted in our workshops in France and finished with an engraved metal buckle. Unisex and available in several colours. Felt is almost never used for belts. Matt, dense and supple, it does not crack or split at the points where it bends. On the other side is cowhide leather, a dense and durable hide that develops a patina over the years and gains depth. Two noble materials, one accessory.

Everything depends on which material you choose to show. On the
felt side, the belt belongs to the same world as
wool, flannel, knitwear and raw denim. Its matt surface pairs
naturally with materials that have body and texture, where patent
leather might compete with them.
On the leather side, it returns to a more classic
register. The cowhide catches the light and develops a patina,
creating a sharper, more formal appearance. This is the side to
wear with tailored trousers, a shirt or officewear.
In practical terms, it means having one belt for Monday and
Saturday, without changing accessories. Simply turn it over.
The buckle, width and belt loops
Three details determine the comfort of a belt, and they should
be checked before purchasing.
The width: it must fit through the loops of
your trousers. A belt that is too wide will struggle to pass
through them, while one that is too narrow will move around
and twist. Ours is sized to fit the standard belt loops of
tailored trousers.
The buckle: ours is made from engraved metal
and has a deliberately simple shape. On a reversible belt, it
must work with both sides, ruling out buckles that are too
distinctive or decorative.
Reversing the belt: this is the feature that
sets the design apart. The buckle detaches so that the two
sides can be reversed. It takes only a few seconds and requires
no tools.
How do you choose the right size?
Measure your waist where you usually wear your belt, over your
clothing rather than directly against the skin. The available
lengths are provided on each product page.
Two guidelines will help you avoid the most common mistake:
A belt size is not the same as a trouser size. It is measured
to the middle hole, rather than the first or last, leaving room
for adjustment in both directions. If you sometimes wear the
belt with tailored trousers and sometimes with thicker jeans,
take your measurement over the thicker garment.
As felt is supple, it follows the shape of the waist without
creating a pronounced crease, even when sitting down. It is an
accessory you can wear all day without thinking about it—and
one that ultimately says something about you: few people wear
a wool belt.
Will a felt belt last over time?
It is a fair question: a belt is placed under constant tension,
unlike any other item in the collection.
The most vulnerable part of a belt is the buckle hole. This is
where the material can tear or stretch lengthways, as all the
tension is concentrated in one place. Felt has no weave or grain
direction: there is no thread to break and therefore no starting
point for a tear to spread from the hole.
The two materials also reinforce one another. Leather provides
structure and support, while felt brings flexibility and
cushioning. Combined, they age better than either material would
on its own.
How do you care for a two-sided belt?
Two materials require two different methods, but it is simpler
than it might seem.
Treat the leather side as you would any cowhide leather: use a dry
cloth and apply a leather conditioner once or twice a year if the
hide appears dry. The felt side requires neither cream nor polish:
a gentle dry brushing is enough.
The only real rule is not to mix the two treatments. Never apply
a leather care product to the felt side, as the wool would absorb
it and become marked. Simply place a cloth over the side you are
not treating.
