It should not be confused with sports baseball caps such as those worn in Major League Baseball: here, we are referring to the shape, not its use on the field. Our designs retain the familiar line, rounded crown and long peak, but none of the traditional construction. They are knitted, felted and shaped from a single piece without assembly seams in our workshop in Oloron-Sainte-Marie. No canvas or brushed cotton: instead, merino wool felt, softer and more matt, which works just as naturally with a wool coat as with a sweatshirt. A traditional baseball cap is made from cotton canvas, assembled
from several stitched panels. The seams create raised lines on
the inside that can begin to press against the head after several
hours. Visually, it remains associated with sportswear, which can
make it less versatile outside that setting.
Our caps are knitted and then felted from a single piece using
a seamless technique. There are no assembly seams between the
crown and peak and no friction points, so the cap can be worn
all day without a second thought. The line also becomes cleaner
and more continuous, without the raised seams that divide a
traditional cap into panels.
Wool felt does the rest. Matt and dense, it captures light like
a woollen fabric rather than canvas, allowing the cap to work
naturally with a coat, tailored jacket or chunky knitwear.
Wool is also naturally water-repellent, resisting light rain
without fluorinated treatments or PFAS.
Modern, retro or casual: which style should you choose?
Choosing a wool felt baseball cap also means choosing a particular
look. In a dark solid colour, it remains understated: a refined
cap that can be worn with a coat or blazer without feeling out
of place. In houndstooth, it becomes a retro, almost vintage-inspired
cap, borrowing from the tailored wardrobes of the 1960s.
Worn with jeans and a sweatshirt, it becomes a casual cap designed
for everyday life. It is also distinctly modern: the material
changes, but the silhouette remains faithful to its sporting origins.
A baseball cap for women or men?
Our baseball caps are unisex. Men’s and women’s baseball caps
share the same cut, depth and peak. The colour and angle create
the final look.
Worn straight, the cap adds structure and character. Lifted
slightly away from the forehead, it opens up the face and creates
a softer effect. Dark colours blend naturally into any wardrobe,
while brighter shades turn the cap into the piece that gets noticed.

Houndstooth introduces a classic tailoring pattern to a shape
with entirely different origins. This contrast is precisely
what makes it interesting.
Our baseball caps come in one size. Each design is adjustable
from 56 to 61 cm using the leather strap at the back, providing
a supple fit without pressure. Measure your head circumference
with a tape measure, positioning it just above the ears and
across the middle of the forehead, to check that you fall within

How should you care for your baseball cap?
Wool felt should be cared for when dry using a soft brush:
no machine washing, water or dry cleaning. In the event of
a stain, blot the area with an absorbent cloth and leave the
cap to air-dry. This simple care is enough to preserve its
density and shape over time.
