An urban backpack, far removed from sportswear codes
Technical backpacks are perfectly suited to certain uses, but their appearance often remains associated with sport, travel or the outdoors. For everyday use, whether at the office or around the city, something else is needed: a bag that can keep up with every journey without clashing with the rest of the wardrobe.
Felt immediately moves the backpack into smarter territory. Its matt surface and density are more reminiscent of a wool fabric than a technical canvas. Worn with a coat, jacket, knitwear or an unstructured suit, the Charlie complements the silhouette rather than competing with it.
Its design is deliberately understated. The lines are clean, details are kept to a minimum and the straps can be adjusted to suit your build and preferred carrying height. Cowhide leather adds structure where the bag is placed under the greatest strain, while creating a subtle contrast of materials with the felt.

What can you carry in the Charlie backpack?
First of all, a laptop, for those who use it at work or while travelling. The Sacha

Everything else depends on the day. A notebook, water bottle, a few personal belongings, lightweight knitwear or purchases made on the way home can all fit inside without the bag immediately losing its shape.
The flexibility of the felt plays an important role here. Unlike a very rigid shell, the bag adapts to the volume of its contents without imposing a fixed shape.

A lightweight backpack designed to last
Felt offers a particularly effective balance between lightness and durability. It weighs less than leather of an equivalent volume, an appreciable difference when the bag is carried for several hours or holds a heavier load.
Its construction also contributes to its strength. The Charlie is shaped from a single piece, reducing the number of assembly seams in areas traditionally subject to strain. Cowhide leather is then used for the straps and fastenings, where the demands placed on the bag are greatest.

What does a backpack made in France really mean?
For us, French manufacturing is more than an indication of origin. It tells the story of a material and a craft.
French merino wool is worked in our workshops in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, where the felt is produced and dyed. The dyes are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.
The Charlie is not presented as organic or recycled. We prefer to describe precisely what it is: a bag made from a natural material, crafted in our workshops and designed to accompany everyday life for years to come.
A women’s or men’s backpack?
The Charlie is a unisex backpack, with no difference in shape or design. Its adjustable straps allow the fit to be adapted to every body type, while the choice of colour changes its character.
Deep or natural shades blend easily into the wardrobe, while bolder colours give the bag greater presence. The same design can therefore remain understated or become one of the defining features of the silhouette.
